Hello

An introduction is in order, I think.

My name is Nick and I’ve been taking pictures of the landscape around my home in South Wales for too long to remember now.

Not even cancer and a couple of near-death experiences could stop me.

I started my first blog, “During the Meanwhilst”, shortly after my cancer diagnosis in 2014 and it has been a great source of therapy for me and has hopefully reached out to people also living with cancer or any other chronic, debilitating illness.

The format of that blog was quite simple: two posts each week, one being an irreverent rant at something and the other a photograph that I had taken.

I’ve decided now though to extend that blog into this one, a more photography-based thing which will again be a showcase for an image I’ve made but hopefully provide some detailed behind the scenes type content showing why and how I decided to take that particular picture.

I'll be showcasing my best images

Its title, “Limping to Locations” is self-evident, and a sign that I don’t take myself too seriously and laugh at my illness as much as I can.  It’s how I deal with it and I make no apologies for it.

I’m going to post one image each month, though this may increase if I feel up to it, and it won’t impact on During the Meanwhilst at all.  That blog and its twice weekly posting schedule and content won’t change.

“Limping to Locations” will compliment my existing “During the Meanwhilst” blog, my 500px pages where I display my images and my YouTube channel where you can find videos about the gear I use and the pictures I take.

Oh, and you’ll get to meet Dexter too.

So, have a look around and see my first image, the lighthouse at Mumbles and how I went about shooting it.  If you like it and want to see more, my next image will be published on 1 April and then on the first of each month after that.

Thanks for taking the time and looking.
